History

The Original Image of Divine Mercy was painted in Vilnius, Lithuania in 1935 by a Polish artist Eugeniusz Kazimirowski under the very close direction of Saint Faustina Kowalska.  The image depicts her mystical vision of Jesus Who Himself asked her to “paint an image according to the pattern you see.”  Unable to paint, she solicited the help of her spiritual director, Fr. Michael Sopocko, who knew of the fine work of Kazimirowski.  Together, the three began a six-month artistic process, with Sopocko occasionally posing as the Merciful Jesus while Faustina described the extraordinary details of her vision for Kazimirowski.

We are pleased to offer the exclusively licensed image from the Archdiocese of Vilnius with the only hi-resolution digital replica of Saint Faustina’s Original Masterpiece of Divine Mercy.

All Divine Mercy prints include a certificate of authenticity as well as a number that corresponds to the exclusive license from the Archdiocese of Vilnius to replicate the original image that hangs in Vilnius.
